Trial began yesterday for John Kramer, a Philadelphia man accused of dumping his wife’s red Corvettte into the Delaware River in the midst of their messy divorce. Kramer is facing multiple charges including contempt, violation of a Protection from Abuse Order, harassment, and reckless endangerment. The Kramers’ marital problems escalated after the death of their adult son in June. Kramer’s wife claims that repeated threats from her estranged husband prompted her to obtain a restraining order barring him from having direct contact with her. Kramer’s wife and teenage daughter reported that they had received threatening text messages from Kramer before he pushed the car into the river.
