A tour bus carrying a group of Canadian middle school students was rear-ended by a New Jersey Transit bus in the Lincoln Tunnel Wednesday morning. Approximately 60 people were on the NJ Transit bus at the time. 31 of them, including one Port Authority officer, were injured in the bus accident. 26 students, a principal and another staff member were on board the Canadian tour bus. No injuries were reported by passengers on the tour bus. The center tube of the Lincoln Tunnel was shut down for several hours after the bus crash. A spokesperson for NJ Transit said that the bus driver involved in the collision has been removed from service pending an investigation.
