17-year-old Adelso “Adeiry” Matos was riding his bike home from a neighborhood park when he was struck by a car and killed in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. The fatal bike accident happened around 7:15 Sunday evening. Witnesses say the 28-year-old driver of the car that struck Adelso ran a stop sign before hitting the teen. Police found beer cans inside the car and arrested the driver. He is expected to face charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and homicide by vehicle. A witness at the scene attempted to save Adelso by performing CPR; however, Adelso succumbed to his injuries. Adelso would have been a senior at Olney High School in the fall.
