Federal investigators have reported that the conductor of the Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia was not using his cell phone while he was operating the train during or prior to the deadly train derailment. Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board have not yet determined what caused the fatal accident that killed eight passengers and injured more than 200 others; however, regulators have indicated that it is likely that the crash was caused by human error. Brandon Bostian, the conductor operating the train when it derailed, suffered a concussion in the accident and has no recollection of the events immediately preceding the Philadelphia train derailment.
