Legal Marketing Firm Reports Pittsburgh Truck Driver Asleep at Wheel Causes Fatal Auto Accident

A fatal auto accident occurred last week near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when a Penske truck crashed into the rear of a car that was stopped at a red light on route 65.  Debra Douds, 49, died at the scene.  The impact of the collision caused the rear half of her vehicle to collapse, and her car was pushed 257 feet by the commercial truck.

The truck driver who caused the auto accident, Jeremy Hurst, 36, has since admitted to taking prescription drugs and falling asleep behind the wheel before the crash.  Hurst, currently wanted in Tennessee for parole violation in connection with drug related charges and theft, was not injured in the accident.  Hurst will likely face numerous criminal charges in Pennsylvania once the investigation is complete.

People who have lost a loved one or been injured in auto accidents caused by driver negligence are advised to consult with a reputable personal injury attorney.
