An unidentified pedestrian was struck by an SUV and killed Friday night in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The fatal accident happened shortly after 9:00 pm on Route 70 near the intersection of McClellan Avenue. Witnesses heard a crash and saw the driver exit the SUV. According to a nearby gas station attendant, the SUV had a green light at the time of the accident, and the victim may have been wearing dark clothes. Westbound lanes on Route 70 were closed for hours Friday night while police investigated. This is the second deadly highway accident to occur in Pennsauken in one week. On Monday, March 28, 16 year-old Quason Turner was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on Route 130. The driver in Turner’s case is facing numerous charges including fleeing the scene of an accident.
