SEO Company: Pennsylvania Turnpike Raises Speed Limit to 70mph

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission voted Tuesday to raise the speed limit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike from 65 mph to 70 mph. To test a possible increase, the commission raised the speed limit on a 100 mile stretch of the turnpike between Morganville and Blue Mountain and studied the effects of the increase for eighteen months before making the decision to permanently raise the speed limit. During the testing period, there was no significant increase in the average speed of vehicles, and the rate of car accidents actually decreased. According to a turnpike spokesman, portions of the turnpike that currently have a 55 mph speed limit will remain at 55 mph. Portions that are currently 65 mph will be raised to 70 mph. Markers are being installed to make curves more visible, and new speed limit signs will be posted along the turnpike before the change goes into effect.
