In Paris, Milan and New York, annual fashion shows introduce the products that designers work on all year, to the public. Now, high fashion has gone virtual.
Inspired by rapidly growing interest and expanding business presence in the Metaverse, the Metaverse Fashion Week, or MVFW22, has been organized by Tokens.com in partnership with Decentraland. Kick-off ceremonies are scheduled for today, March 23. Events begin March 24 and run through March 27.
Visitors will be presented with an online viewing and shopping experience for the fashion-savvy. There will be 60 plus brands, artists, and designers showcasing their wares, a combination of legacy luxury fashion and digital-native brands. Events will include runway shows, afterparties, immersive experiences, shopping, panel discussions, and much more.
Curator and guest panelist David Cash said the goal of the show is “to present fashion in every form possible, from runway shows to retail experiences, fashion presented as art, photography and even fashion presented in ways that extend beyond the confines of reality, as, in the metaverse, anything is possible.”
