Web Design Company Reports: Google Announces ‘Mobile Friendly’ Website Label

Search engine giant, Google announced last week that it will add a ‘Mobile Friendly’ website label to their search engine results.  Mobile devices have flooded the market in recent years and internet analysts predict that 2014 is the year that mobile search users will exceed traditional desktop users.   Google is placing a high value on those websites that are especially easy to use; in turn these results will show up more often in a search than those that are not.    So what do you need to do to make your website mobile friendly?  The company has highlighted a few criteria that the Googlebots will be looking for.  The mobile friendly sites will have text that is readable without zooming, pages that will re-size to avoid scrolling and spaced links to avoid tapping the wrong one.  Web designers can use the Google Mobile Friendly test to determine if their page meets the criteria.  This new change will be rolled out globally over the next few weeks.
