A motor vehicle accident on I-295 in East Greenwich Township early Thursday morning resulted in an overturned salt truck and a jack-knifed 18-wheeler. The collision involved three vehicles and led to center and right lane closures. Numerous emergency vehicles were called to the scene, and the driver of the NJDot salt truck was transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries as investigators attempted to determine the cause of the accident. Salt, spilled when the truck overturned, had to be cleared from the road before it could be reopened.
