The city of Philadelphia is mourning the death of firefighter, Joyce Craig-Lewis. Craig-Lewis perished early yesterday morning in a basement fire in the West Oak Lane section of the city while trying to save an elderly woman trapped in another part of the home. She was a decorated eleven year veteran of Engine 64 and the first female firefighter to die in the line of duty in Philadelphia. Craig-Lewis was a married mother of two, and leaves behind a sixteen year old son and a sixteen month old daughter.
